The Current and Future Princes

The gender-swapped role reversal ([link], [link]) continues. Here we see Candy Heart as a colt, playing with his foalsitter Prince Rhythmus Abendstern.

Notes

Again I've taken the two characters of Twilight and Cadance, switched their genders and reversed their roles in the story.

Candy Heart's destiny is still connected in some way to the power of love, implying a difference in the structuring of the Elements of Harmony in this universe. He is a pegasus here, matching Cadance's backstory, and he will later in life become the bearer of the Element of Love (instead of Magic) and eventually an alicorn prince.

Absedstern's destiny is likewise still connected to magic. I kept his cutie mark as a star, but removed the encircling stars to reduce the implied connection to the six Elements. It's also crystalline reflecting his connection to the Crystal Empire, and it is a likeness of the Crystal Star, the equivalent of the Crystal Heart. His name comes from German, like how Cadance's name comes from Italian (I think). Abendstern means "evening star", based on the name "Twilight Sparkle", while Rhythmus loosely translates to "cadence".

In case anyone is wondering, I'm not sure where Shining Armor's equivalent fits into this story. She's probably either Candy's older sister who marries Abendstern, or Abendstern's younger sister who marries Candy. It's not important here, so I didn't bother choosing.
